Julia Trevelyan Oman

Designer

The late Dr Julia Trevelyan Oman studied at the Royal College of Arts.  She designed for television, West End theatres, the Royal National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Hamburg State Opera, Glyndebourne (Arabella), the Royal Opera (Eugene OneginLa Boheme, Die Fledermaus), The Royal Ballet (Enigma Variations, A Month in the CountryNutcracker) and productions in Chichester, Boston, Vienna, New York and Canada.

She was elected Royal Designer for Industry in 1977, honoured with the CBE in 1986 and an Hon. DLitt by Bristol University in 1987.

Julia Trevelyan Oman died in October 2003.
