
Alastair West
Lighting Designer
Alastair graduated from Bretton Hall in with a degree in Performance Design and Production where he specialized in lighting design.
He has designed multiple shows for Northern Ballet, including the upcoming Geisha, as well as Casanova, choreographed by Kenneth Tindall, for which he was nominated for a Knight of Illumination award, Jane Eyre and Victoria, both choreographed by Cathy Marston, Madame Butterfly and The Three Musketeers choreographed by David Nixon MBE, plus several other small scale pieces for Kenneth Tindall: Project One, Luminous Junc·ture and The Architect. Other designs for Northern Ballet productions include Giselle, I Got Rhythm and Christmas Carol. He has designed several productions for the companies small scale children’s ballets Puss in Boots, Ugly Duckling, Three Pigs and Elves and the Shoe Makers.
He has re-lit, re-designed and re-created various productions throughout his career, whilst working for Sheffield Theatres, RSC and multiple commercial tours.
Theatre lighting design credits include: The Jungle Book for Derby Theatre; Cinderella, Aladdin and Sleeping Beauty for Cast in Doncaster; Puzzle Women for Dead Ernest, The Indian Boy for RSC Cube Season and La Ronde for Bolt Productions
