Richard Haigh was a bassoonist in the National Youth Orchestra and a
Choral Scholar at Durham Cathedral.
He has a degree in languages and archaeology from Durham.
Richard's first job was with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 1971 he moved to London where he taught briefly in the East End and then
became Librarian and Orchestra Manager at Trinity College of Music. He joined
the London Sinfonietta in the early 1970s and left to work for Allied
Artists agency.
His next venture was the Dutch company, De Koos, for whom he set up a
London office and where he represented such clients as Jorge Bolet, Kathryn
Stott, the Fitzwilliam String Quartet and Elly Ameling.
After a brief period with Trafalgar Perry management he founded Performing
Arts in 1983.
