Short biography

Durham Marenghi has designed the lighting for a wide variety of theatre, opera, dance, trade concert and television productions in Britain and abroad .
Large-scale television broadcast events include The Wall at the Berlin Wall; son et lumière for IsaoTomita on the Rivers Hudson and Danube; Red Square Invites in Moscow; the World Student Games ceremonies; the Hong Kong handover ceremony in 1997; A Celebration of Christmas with Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Natalie Cole; International Classical Music Awards; The Classical Brit Awards from the Royal Albert Hall; D-Day from the QEII in Cherbourg with Bob Hope and Dame Vera Lynn; Stadium spectaculars for Oman National Days; Paul McCartney's Standing Stone and Working Classical. Live music includes José Carreras' arena concerts and Andrea Bocelli's European tour; Classical Spectacular concerts in London and throughout Europe and Australia. Opera includes productions for Opera North and Welsh National Opera. Music theatre includes Saturday Night Fever in Germany; three West End productions; Lloyd Webber concerts at EXPO '92 and St Paul's Cathedral. Theatre includes: Young Vic, Glasgow Citizens' Theatre, the Old Vic, Plymouth, Newcastle, Hull and Liverpool Playhouse. Dance productions include several ice shows in Europe, Canada and Las Vegas and tours for Wayne Sleep in Britain and the Far East.

Durham designed the lighting for the much acclaimed QUEEN'S GOLDEN JUBILEE LIGHT AND FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA at Buckingham Palace on the 3rd of June 2002, ROMEO AND JULIET at The Piccadilly Theatre, London and PETER PAN at The Royal Festival Hall.
