Short biography

Joss is the founder member and Artistic Director of Present Moment theatre company. His productions of VOLPONE at Wilton's Music Hall in 2005, THE ALCHEMIST at the Riverside Studios in 2002, THE REVENGER'S TRAGEDY in 2000 and THE COUNTRY WIFE in 1999 both at the Bridewell Theatre were very highly praised and reinforced his reputation as an innovative and accessible director.

Having also qualified as a teacher, he has a strong commitment to the development of young artists. He is Associate Director of ARC Theatre Ensemble and directs regularly in the United States.

His productions have been seen at the Edinburgh and Buxton Festivals, the Soho, Finborough and Latchmere Theatres and Southwark Playhouse and the London Centre for Theatre Studies.

His current production of THE MILLIONAIRESS was seen at the Birmingham School of Acting where he has directed many productions.

In 2001, Joss Bennathan assisted Jude Kelly at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and Neil Bartlett at the Lyric, Hammersmith in 2003.

His books 'Developing Drama Skills 11-14' and 'Performance Power' were published by Heinemann Educational in 2000 and 2001.
