Short biography Tanya McCallin is a distinguished theatre and opera designer, who works extensively in Europe, the U.S.A. and Australia. She has designed the premières of works by Arthur Miller, Pam Gems and Mike Leigh as well as productions of Chekhov, Sheridan and Shakespeare. Her early association with new plays at the Hampstead Theatre resulted in numerous West End transfers. Since then her work has been seen regularly in the West End and at the National Theatre. She has also designed for the Royal Court, the Bush and the Donmar. Opera designs have been for the Royal Opera Covent Garden, the English National Opera, Scottish Opera, Dallas Opera, Houston Grand Opera, the Salzburger Festspiele, the Mariinski-Kirov St Petersburg, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Opéra National du Rhin and the Liceu Barcelona.
